Technical Information

The images that make up the Picturing Our Past collection are of a variety of different original media (black and white photographs, glass negatives, postcards…). All of these images have been scanned in using an Epson Expression 1600 scanner at a level of 600dpi and at a maximum side length of 3000-5000. All of the images have then been touched up (according to the wishes of the Sources) in Adobe Photoshop 7.0. The bare minimum modifications include: resizing, reformatting and saving to JPEG format, and level adjustment to increase the visibility of image details.
