Images that are part of the Picturing Our Past collection are for online viewing only. The collection logo appears in the bottom right corner of every image as a security measurement, as a copyright protector. Please do not attempt to reprint, use, or sell the images that are part of this collection. If you are interested in obtaining further copies of/information about certain images please contact the Picturing Our Past collection management with your inquiries. In some cases, further viewing rights may be obtained through contact with the Source (this contact will be made through the POP management).

In all cases: All commercial rights and copyrights are retained by the Source (owner of the image), and all publication of images requires permission granted by the Source.

All other issues concerning the use of these images are documented individually, image by image, and accompany the viewable image in code form.

V - Images are available only to be viewed online through POP web based archives.

HLH – Digital copies of image are allowed to be part of the collection of the House of Local History, Williamstown, MA.

WCA – Digital copies of image are allowed to be part of the collection of the Williams College Archive, Williamstown, MA.

R – Use of images allowed for research and exhibition purposes.

C – Copies of image are available upon request to any interested researcher.

E – Image editing for exhibition purposes is allowed (only if editing information accompanies the image).
